Looking Back to Move Forward

As William Shakespeare states: “All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely

players”. 2020 marked the beginning of a new era.

These past two years the world has entered a new normal, defined by the COVID-19 pandemic which took millions of lives worldwide, led to the largest economic recession since the Great Depression, created social disruption and consequently took a serious toll on people’s mental health.

These past two years we have also witnessed other significant social issues emerging, where some artists compare past and present forcing the viewer to reflect.

How do we move forward? This exhibition aims to address significant issues from the year 2020 onwards, looking back into these moments to help us create a better future together.
