3 Upcoming artists to look out for in Cyprus | September
Mr Kok
Iacovos Loizou, also known as Mr Kok is a self-taught artist based in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Through the method of storytelling, Mr Kok develops an understanding of the possible uses of narrative in his work using different materials. Through text, diagrams and his comic style drawings layered on top of each other, he describes his work as “simple, evolving, coded”.
What we love about Mr Kok’s work, it’s his intense use of colour and recurring motifs which form a proverbial energy in his work. Either through his ceramics, paintings or digital drawings, we always want to see what’s next for this artist!
Lefki Savvidou
Lefki Savvidou (b.1990) is a visual artist, illustrator and writer based in Nicosia, Cyprus.

The primary medium for her work is text and she is influenced by life’s perceptions and relationships in the 21st century, challenging modern day life.
Using her Instagram profile as her personal archive, we love following her work! With her unique writing style, she manages to engrave poetic statements, oftentimes full of sarcasm, questioning or satirising life today.
Andrea Evangelou
Andrea Evangelou is a visual artist and art teacher based in Limassol, Cyprus.

Focusing on the human body and face, she describes “As a person I like melodrama, quietness, simplicity and I’m drawn into dramatic poses and the endless aesthetic of the human body’s materiality.”
Shifting to a more abstract style from her earlier work, constantly exploring new possibilities with painting and focussing on every detail, we can’t wait to see more of her work!
